On Saturday, the 23-year-old shared a series of behind-the-scenes photos taken during filming of director Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of the Louisa May Alcott novel, which follows the lives of the four March sisters – Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy – during and after the American Civil War in the 1860s.
In one of the images, Chalamet can be seen dressed in period costume while eating Wendy's fries alongside Gerwig and fellow actors Florence Pugh and Meryl Streep.
The slideshow of photos has quickly gone viral, garnering more than one million likes and thousands of comments from fans.
“Meryl Streep eating Wendy’s. Everything I never knew I always needed,” one person wrote.
Another added: “The fries one is amazing”, while several other social media users described the image as “legendary” and “powerful”.
In October, Saoirse Ronan appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and revealed that it was Streep who had ordered the Wendy's fries to the set while shooting.
“It was my first time working with Meryl. I'd met her at things and I was always just sort of like: ‘It's Meryl!’ and I could never be cool around her,” Ronan said.
“But then, you know, we have one scene together, and she had been doing all this stuff with Flo and Timothee. They have quite a bit to do together.
“And I just remember them saying, they like texted me at the end of one of their shoot days and they were like: ‘Dude, Meryl ordered a Wendy's today’.
“Meryl was hungry and she was like: ‘I'd love some fries’, or something, and like 20 seconds later somebody was like: ‘Do you want some fries? I've got some fries’."
Several of the other images in Chalamet’s post focused on the contrast between the movie's 19th century setting and the reality of shooting a period film.
In one photo, actor James Norton is captured using his mobile phone while wearing an anorak over his costume.
In another snapshot, Chalamet’s co-stars Ronan, Eliza Scanlen and Pugh, who play the sisters in the film, can be seen eating cake from paper plates while dressed in pastel-coloured gowns and floral headcrowns.
Emma Watson, who plays the fourth March sister, also features in the post wearing a coat to keep her warm as she and Chalamet pose together while sitting on foldable chairs outside.
Little Women will be released in UK cinemas on 27 December.
