Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Ballet lovers are in for a treat with when Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo returns to London on Monday. The Eye in conjunction with Sadler's Wells at the Peacock Theatre is offering 10 readers and guests a chance to experience this unique brand of dance. We have 10 pairs of top-price tickets on offer for their performance at the Peacock Theatre on Mon 22 Sept, plus five souvenir bottles of Trocks 97 vintage champagne, courtesy of Champagne Gosset, to give away.

The Trocks, as they are also known, are a group of 14 classically trained male dancers who pirouette en pointe as well as any prima ballerina. Gracefully lampooning the rivalries, pretensions and ego-trips of the dance world they have gained a worldwide following.

In these two programmes, The Trocks put a new spin on old favourites like Swan Lake and Giselle. Dancing on their toes and stamping on everyone else's, The Trocks' comic burlesque of ballet classics now returns to London.

The show runs from Monday 15 Sept to Sun 28 Sept at the Peacock Theatre in London (0171-314 8800) For a chance to win a pair of tickets and a bottle of champagne, answer the following question: Who composed the music to Swan Lake?

Send your answer, and details (including a daytime contact phone no) by 19 Sept to: Eye/Trocks Comp, Peacock Theatre, Portugal Street, Kingsway, London WC2A 2HT. The first five correct entries drawn from the postbag win a pair of tickets and a bottle of champagne, the next five will get a pair of tickets. Winners will be contacted by phone on 19 Sept.
