Mike Tindall has opened up about the late date night he had with wife Zara Tindall in London before attending King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s coronation the next day.
Tindall discussed the date on Friday’s episode of Good Morning Britain. The night out took place on 5 May after the couple were spotted at a royal family dinner with Zara’s mother, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward and his wife, Sophie.
On Good Morning Britain, Tindall expressed how much he enjoyed the one-on-one time with his wife last Friday, as they’re the parent of three children: Mia, nine, Lena, four, and Lucas, two.
“It was quite nice to have a little date night,” he said. “When you’ve got three children, it’s not always the easiest to get out and just have a drink together.”
He continued: “It was quite nice to have a little bit of time where we could just go out and have a drink and have a chat. I definitely don’t regret that.”
Tindall was also asked if he and his wife were concerned about staying out so late, the night before the coronation. He then poked fun at why he wasn’t concerned about attending the royal event the next day.
“Never worry about what’s tomorrow,” he said. “Enjoy the moment and then you can deal with the next day later.”
Following their family dinner, the DailyMail reported that Tindall and his wife didn’t leave The Arts Club, which is a members only venue, until 2am.
During the coronation concert on 7 May, fans praised royal family members for their carefree dancing at Windsor Castle. More specifically, one video from the concert showed Zara and Mike Tindall swaying back and forth while they waved union jack flags in the air. In another clip, the couple was seen dancing with Prince Edward.
While appearing on Good Morning Britain, Tindall joked about his dance moves.
“It’s very difficult when you’re on a raised platform that’s under a lot of lights, I felt I didn’t really put my best foot forward in terms of [my dancing]” the former rugby player quipped. “If you started doing interesting dance manoeuvres on that platform next to the King I’m not entirely sure it would have gone down that well!”
He also quoted a line from Will Smith’s character in the movie Hitch, adding: “‘You’ve got to stay in your safe zone’ and my flag waving, I tried to be the best flag waver out there.”
