This election is still a dead heat, according to most polls. In a fight with such wafer-thin margins, we need reporters on the ground talking to the people Trump and Harris are courting. Your support allows us to keep sending journalists to the story.

There's good news for anyone who missed out on tickets for V98 in Chelmsford next month. Though the event - which takes place on 22 and 23 Aug and boasts headlining sets from both The Verve and The Charlatans - is sold out, one of its sponsors, Tommy Jeans, has given us a pair of VIP tickets for the whole festival to give away. Also featuring in this year's line-up at Hylands Park are Seahorses, Texas, Green Day, Space, Iggy Pop, Robbie Williams, James and Chumbawamba. Tommy Jeans's role at V98 includes sponsoring a celebrity five-a-side football match, starring Bob Mortimer, Keith Allen, Dodgy and Goldie, and giving each V98 artist a Tommy Jeans goody bag containing a pair of jeans, a Tommy T-shirt and an exclusively designed Tommy bag.
One overall winner will receive the tickets, plus a Tommy Jeans goody bag as described above. Four runners-up will each win a goody bag. For a chance to win, name The Verve's previous album to Urban Hymns. Send your answer on a postcard, including your name, address and daytime phone no, to: FFI, 18-24 Westbourne Grove, London W2 5RH by 7 Aug. First correct entries pulled from the hat will win.
