Answering questions from young girls about how she lives her “best life” in a video posted on the “O, The Oprah Magazine” YouTube channel, the former talk-show host and philanthropist said that she purchased “really good fluffy” towels with the money - after first taking a photo with the cheque.
“That is a lot of money. And the first thing I did when I got my cheque for a million dollars was I took a picture of it,” Winfrey said. “So there’s a picture of me holding the cheque for a million dollars.”
As for her decision to spend the money on luxury bathroom accessories, the 65-year-old told a five-year-old named Brooklyn: “I love great towels.
“Towels that are so big and fluffy that you can wrap your whole body in. I splurged on really good Ralph Lauren towels.”
Earlier in the video, the media mogul revealed the best thing she learned when she “became a grown up”.
“I was in charge in my life, and that the best thing I could do ever is be a person who listened to what my heart said, listened to what I believed to be true, and not listen to everybody else's ideas about what I should do or who I should be,” Winfrey said.
