London Underground and the New York City Transit Authority have organised an exchange of poems carried in their respective trains.
Tube passengers will now be able to read Walt Whitman's Crossing Brooklyn Ferry and Thanks Forever by Milton Kessler, while subway users will see the four-line anonymous lyric Western Wind.
The new selection of Poetry on the Underground includes works by Shakespeare and Robert Louis Stevenson.
