An apartment is being sold in New York City for $85m (£62.5m) along with the extraordinary opportunity to travel to space in a bold attempt to shift the property.

The penthouse in question is situated in Hell’s Kitchen in New York City, with the full floor of the Atelier Condo measuring at 15,000 square feet.

While the plush property will no doubt appeal to those with unimaginable amounts of wealth looking to buy in the city that never sleeps, attempts to find a buyer haven’t been successful so far.

The penthouse, which is owned by president of River 2 River Realty Daniel Neiditch, has allegedly been on the market for more than 800 days.

That’s why Mr Neiditch decided to increase the area of the 44th floor apartment from 10,000 to 15,000 square feet and add some extra perks onto the final sale.

The buyer will reportedly be given two $250,000 (£184,000) seats on a Virgin Galactic space flight, a venture that Richard Branson recently stated will finally be realised in the near future.

Furthermore, they’ll also receive two Rolls-Royce Phantoms, a 75-foot yacht, a year’s worth of weekly dinners for two at Daniel Boulud’s 65th Street flagship restaurant, a live-in butler and private chef for a year and more tantalising perks to seal the deal.

Several of the additional amenities being included in the final sale of the apartment have been provided by Mr Neiditch himself.

“In a way, I’m offering my lifestyle,” Mr Neiditch told The New York Post.

“It’s not that I am selling stuff that I don’t want. It’s all stuff that I thought created a nice package.”

The luxury penthouse located at 635 West 42nd Street boasts 24 rooms, 10 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms.

All residents of the Atelier building have access to the 24-hour concierge and valet, a tennis court, a golf driving range, a swimming pool, a billiards room on the 47th floor, a fitness centre, basketball courts and much more.

The individual who purchases the heftily priced apartment will have to pay monthly taxes of $16,500 (£12,150) and monthly common charges of $13,500 (£10,000).
