Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.City car maker Smart has teamed up with fashion brand WeSC for a special-edition model set to be one of several fashion collaborations at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The car brand announced September 9 that it was joining forces with the Swedish street fashion label to debut the 'Smart BRABUS tailor made by WeSC,' a customized version of the Fortwo softtop enhanced by car tuner Brabus.
Unmistakable in several shades of gold matte and gloss paint, the model also features jet-black wheels and WeSC badges on the sides.
Inside, the model has been kitted out with signature leather seats and a leather steering wheel, along with a gold-plated horse-head knob adorning the gear shift lever.
For those unwilling to splash out on a Smart, the brands have also created a set of headphones with the same style, which will be available via the WeSC online shop and its stores from spring next year.
Prices of the headphones and the model itself haven't been unveiled, although more details are likely to be released at next week's Frankfurt Motor Show, when WeSC will join several fashion names also expected to be in attendance courtesy of auto brands.
Fendi has lent its touch to a Maserati GranCabrio, while French shoe designer Pierre Hardy will be on display at the Peugeot stand thanks to a collaboration on the new HX1 plug-in hybrid concept.
The Frankfurt Auto Show runs September 15-25 in Frankfurt, Germany.
