Rover, Ford, Nissan and seat-belt maker Britax are behind a new British initiative to improve child restraints in cars. The aim is to standardise the design of child seats, and the way in which they are attached to cars. A new system, which would simply 'plug' the seat or restraint into built-in anchorages, will be demonstrated at a Munich safety conference on Monday.
