Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Hot on the heels of the new Sportswagon estate version of the second-generation cee'd, Kia has now issued the first pictures of the pro_cee'd three-door coupé model as well.
The latest pro_cee'd continues the trend for Kias to adopt more stylish lines; where the out-going version was very much a straightforward three-door adaptation of the first-generation cee'd hatchback, the new car is a far sportier affair that appears to share far less of its bodywork with the base car. That means it should be a much more convincing competitor for the Volkswagen Scirocco, but it is most likely to be compared with the unusual but appealing one-door-one-side-two-doors-the-other Veloster coupé produced by Kia's sister brand Hyundai.
The pro_cee'd will be built from the first quarter of 2013 at Kia's modern factory in Zilina in Slovakia, which opened in 2007. Customers will get their first chance to see the new pro_cee'd in the metal at this month's Paris Motor Show, where it will appear alongside the latest version of Kia's mid-sized people-carrier, the Carens, which is also expected to be much more stylish than its predecessor.
