This election is still a dead heat, according to most polls. In a fight with such wafer-thin margins, we need reporters on the ground talking to the people Trump and Harris are courting. Your support allows us to keep sending journalists to the story.

The latest addition to the growing market for small cars that look like SUVs is the Hyundai i20 Active.
This will go on sale next month priced from £15,225 – that’s a hefty premium of £4230 on the standard i20.
The extra money buys you a car that rides 2cm higher than standard, on a suspension set-up that’s been tuned for Europe. In terms of styling, you get skid plates at both ends as well as dark plastic wheelarch trims.
Further equipment will echo the everyday i20, with the same range of spec levels and options expected to be on offer.
To start with, however, you won’t get any say on what goes under the bonnet. All models will come with a turbocharged 1.0-litre petrol engine developing 99bhp and returning 58.9mpg combined.
