Arash AF10 launches in Geneva: Million pound motor will be 200mph flagship

British company Arash is revealing a new version of its supercar. Eight years after the first model, this second-generation car is new virtually from the ground up.

The chassis is a carbonfibre affair, with body panels made of carbon-reinforced plastic with an aluminium honeycomb sandwich. The bodywork has a fixed rear wing and an adjustable front wing. Underneath there is hydraulic double wishbone suspension that can be raised to clear obstacles.

But the biggest change is to the motive power. Gone is the old pushrod V8. And in its place is a supercharged V8. It’s quite powerful. About 900bhp powerful. But that’s not all. This forms part of a hybrid system, and there is an electric motor on each wheel. Each motor puts out 295bhp.

So you have a total of 2080bhp from the combined hybrid powertrain. That’s quite a lot. You can specify either manual or auto transmission.

That should be good for a top speed of 200mph, passing 60mph from rest in just 2.8secs.

For the pleasure of that performance you will be expected to pay around £1m. The car will be unveiled at the Geneva motor show in March.
