From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Jeep is to produce a special edition of its 2011 Wrangler model themed around the forthcoming Call of Duty computer game, it confirmed October 19.

The Chrysler owned-brand has partnered with Activision to produce a limited edition Wrangler which will incorporate features inspired by the new Call of Duty: Black Ops computer game.

As standard, the vehicle will include "aggressive 32-inch tires", military style graphics from the computer game on the roof and front quarter panels and taillamp guards.

It is set to retail in the US at $30,625 (€22,280) for the two-door model and $33,500 (€24,370) for the four-door (Jeep Wrangler Unlimited) model and will be available in dealerships in November.

Jeep's vehicles have been featured heavily in the new Call of Duty: Black Ops game, a hotly-anticipated release scheduled for November 9 and have been integrated into both the single storyline and multiplayer experience.

In fact, auto brands are now common place in today's computer games as marketers try to increase brand awareness using unconventional methods.

Earlier this year, Activision partnered with BMW to give away a BMW 125i to gamers trialling Blur, a new racing game.

Even 80s arcade classic Pac-Man found itself an automotive soulmate earlier this year, when its publisher Namco announced a US competition in which gamers could win a bright yellow themed version of the Smart Fortwo vehicle.
