The Orange County International Auto Show opens to the public this weekend. On September 29, the Nitra Motor Show gets underway, one of the biggest automotive events in Eastern Europe and a forum for smaller automakers from Baltic and former Soviet states.

The Nitra show has earned itself a place with the world's autoshow greats, being listed as a global show by governing body OICA. There will be a special conference and display on the future of motoring for towns and villages, along with the main exhibition of cars and commercial vehicles, test tracks and children's activities.

World Solar Challenge begins

The World Solar Challenge is one of the toughest competitions in the eco-motoring world. Solar-powered vehicles come from all over the world to compete at the event, which runs for a fortnight and covers 3000km across the desert to Adelaide - all with no fuel.
