On Friday, the supermodel made a virtual appearance on Drew Barrymore’s daytime talk show, when the host praised Kerr for her “positive” approach to the trio's relationship.
The model was previously married to the Pirates of the Caribbean star for three years, before they divorced in 2013.
Kerr and Bloom say they have remained close for the sake of their son, nine-year-old Flynn.
“[It's] such an amazing example of how we all can create that narrative and behave that way and set a tone for everybody,” Barrymore told her guest.
Kerr replied: “I adore Katy and I just feel so happy that Orlando has found someone that makes his heart so happy, because at the end of the day, for Flynn to have a happy father and a happy mother is just the most important thing.
"I'm just so grateful that Orlando and Katy found each other and I'm so grateful that I found my incredible husband [Evan Spiegel] and just that we all really respect each other."
Kerr went on to explain how they make the relationship work, adding: ”When it comes to special occasions, when we have to be together, we work it out so we have compromises [about] what is the best for our whole family.
“We really do always think of what is the best thing for Flynn, and I just think that's the most important thing.”
Kerr has two other sons, one-year-old Myles and two-year-old Hart, with Spiegel, while Bloom and Perry welcomed their first child together, daughter Daisy Dove, in August.
The engaged couple shared the news of their first child's arrival on Instagram and were showered with well-wishes in the comments, including one from Kerr.
“I'm so happy for you guys. Can't wait to meet her,” she wrote.
Perry also recently revealed that she would be reaching out to the model for any parenting tips.
Speaking to the Times about her parenting skills, Perry said: “[Miranda] has got three boys, so I ask her for all the tips.”
