Your support makes all the difference.The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have announced that they will be taking their first “official tour as a family” this autumn when they embark on a trip to Africa.
The couple confirmed the news today on their official Instagram, after Nigel Casey, the British High Commissioner to South Africa, announced Wednesday that the couple would be travelling to the continent.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are excited to announce that they have been asked to carry out a tour to Southern Africa this autumn,” the couple wrote on Instagram.
According to the Instagram post, during the tour, Prince Harry will visit Malawi and Angola at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, in addition to making a “short working visit to Botswana on route to the other countries”.
“The Duke and Duchess are really looking forward to meeting so many of you on the ground and continuing to raise awareness of the high impact work local communities are doing across the commonwealth and beyond,” the Instagram post reads. “This will be their first official tour as a family!”
While it was previously believed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would embark on the tour as just a couple, the Instagram post hints that their son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor will be joining them.
In October, the couple’s first child will be six months old.
This is not the first time Harry and Meghan will visit Africa together - in April, the couple shared a never-before-seen photo of their trip to Botswana in 2017.
In the photo, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex kneel next to an elephant that was outfitted with a satellite collar as part of conservation efforts.
