Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.View... an alternative vision of beauty. If you are sick of models plastered over the front page from London fashion week, then get an eyeful of Alexander de Cadenet's radiograph "portraits" of models, which look at the discrepancies between "what the subjects are the inside as opposed to who they appear on the surface". "Energy Sources" is on the exterior of the Victoria and Albert Museum, Cromwell Road, London SW7 (0171-938 8500).
Hear... the latest tipped-for-the-top band, Mover. Moving on up the Radio 1 play lists, and gathering extensive Evening Session support, Mover have just embarked on a headline tour. Their tunes blend influences to produce a mixed funky and fun bag of Detroit Soul and Beatles-esque pop. Tonight in London, 100 Club (0171-636 0933), Liverpool, Lomax (4 March), Hull, Adelphi (5 March), Oxford, Zodiac (7 March), Manchester, Roadhouse (8 March).
