A North Carolina couple have celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary with a photoshoot – and the heart-warming pictures have gone viral online.

Not only have Marvin and Wanda Brewington been married for an impressive amount of time, but the pair have also beaten cancer together on two occasions.

The pictures of the 70 and 67-year-olds have been widely shared online, after their daughter Amber Robinson – who also happens to be the wedding photographer that captured the images – shared them on her Facebook page.

According to Robinson’s post, the inspiring couple have successfully raised two children, helped one another through financial struggles and lived a charitable lifestyle together.

“I am SO proud to call them Mom and Dad,” she writes.

“They are the epitome of where I strive to be in my own marriage and a constant reminder that a wedding is only a day, but a marriage is forever.

“If you are one of the millions in love, or maybe one of the millions of broken-hearted that need a visual reminder that love always endures, I would love for you to share this as a way of letting my mom and dad know, they are an inspiration to anyone who wants, believes, or is in love.”

Both Marvin and Wanda have faced severe health struggles over the course of their marriage, Essence reports.

In 1973, Marvin was told that he had multiple sclerosis and was diagnosed with colon cancer just four years later.

Meanwhile, in 2013 doctors informed him that he had prostate cancer and less than 12 months later, his wife contracted Parkinson’s disease.

However, their unrelenting health battles seem to have only made their relationship stronger, as the lovable images from their celebratory photoshoot demonstrate.
