Lily Collins has been ghosted ‘more times than she cares to admit’
‘I don’t think it will be something I can ever figure out’
Lily Collins says she has been ghosted several times.
Proving that not even A-list celebrities are immune to the pitfalls of modern dating, the actor told Glamour UK there have been multiple occasions when men she’s dated have suddenly ceased all communication with her without warning or explanation.
“I’ve been ghosted more times than I care to admit,” she tells the magazine. “There are times when I’ve [been on dates and] thought we had a great time and then I’ve never heard from the guy again.”
The 29-year-old added that sometimes this happens after just one date, but that it has also occurred after she’s been seeing someone for as long as a month.
“I would prefer people to be honest with me,” she continues.
“I don’t think it will be something I can ever figure out. The good thing is that we all have the same issues.”
Collins, who stars in an upcoming BBC remake of Les Misérables, added that she has never used dating apps because she’s unsure how they would work for her.
Considering she’s spent most of her life growing up in LA, the actor, whose father is the musician Phil Collins, explained she knows the places where to go and not to go to meet people.
But, she added that in most cases, you only find someone when you’re not really looking.
In the digital issue interview, the To The Bone star also expressed her support for the MeToo movement, saying, "It’s great to see the camaraderie that’s come from it.
“Whether it’s in the pay gap or having more female directors, writers, and making sure there are just as many women and men on movie sets – hopefully one day this won’t even have to be a conversation.”
