Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. Now that Love Island has returned, you can be certain that many avid fans of the reality television show will be watching the drama unfold with their personalised water bottles close at hand.
However, for some, the price of owning a water bottle like the ones used by the contestants in the villa is one they're not willing to pay.
Available from Love Island's official online store, a water bottle embossed with your name written in pink, blue or orange will put you £15 out of pocket.
"£15 for a water bottle? I'd rather drink water from the Thames," one person mockingly tweeted.
"£15 for a love island water bottle with £4.50 p&p hahaha stop it!!!!" another wrote.
Despite the hefty price tag of the item of merchandise, some Love Island viewers have found themselves torn between making an unwise retail decision and saving some pennies.
"It’s officially the time of year where I consider buying a £15 (+p&p) water bottle," someone tweeted.
"It’s been three years but f**k it, I might finally spend £15 on a water bottle but also might put it off for eight weeks," another fan commented.
The water bottle isn't the only personalised Love Island product available for fans of the show to purchase.
Viewers may also choose to buy the new personalised suitcase, which costs £55 for cabin size (22 x 37 x 55cm) and £80 for hold size (28 x 51 x 78cm).
"You bet your a** I’ll be buying a Love Island suitcase and bottle!!" one fan of the show excitedly tweeted.
Also available from the official Love Island store is a personalised phone case for £10 and a personalised washbag for £12.
