Singer Linda Nolan completed chemotherapy in September but a recent CT scan has shown additional tumours have developed. The star has said she “is scared to death of dying”.

"I knew when I went into the room for my appointment because I could tell from the consultant’s demeanour," said Nolan.

First diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006, then with cellulitis and lymphoedema in 2007, and later secondary cancer on her pelvis in 2017, the Nolans singer was recently told she has growths on her liver.

“It's scary, I'm not going to lie. I try to be upbeat and positive, but I had a really bad day when I got back [home]," the 61-year-old star told The Mirror. Currently on a strict course of 26 chemo tablets a day, Nolan lost her husband to cancer a year after her original diagnosis.

The star has explained how she was in floods of tears when she found out the cancer was back. "I needed to have that cry because I'm scared to death of dying,” she said.

Her sister Anne Nolan, 70, was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in April, just before Linda found out about her incurable, but treatable, liver cancer. Anne was told in early December that her cancer had significantly improved.

They both lost their younger sister Bernie, 54, to cancer in July 2013.

The Nolans formed in 1974 , as a family group with an original line up of seven siblings, including sisters Anne, Denise, Maureen, Linda, Bernadette and brothers Tommy and Brian. They had hit songs "I'm In the Mood for Dancing", "Gotta Pull Myself Together" and "Who's Gonna Rock You".

Linda Nolan featured on Celebrity Big Brother in 2014, and has been a regular panellist on ITV’s Loose Women.
