Letters: The doors of perception
n I am at one with the Weasel (Up & Down Canary Wharf, 14 January) in the matter of the late Larry Grayson's catchphrase, "Shut that door", when he remarks that he cannot find anything funny in the phrase. It must be a recognition of the ease with which the English public can be amused. Yet this is in the light that good humour, such as that of Peter Cook, is also very widely appreciated. It is no wonder that foreigners cannot understand the English.
