From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The Other Woman actor went on to encourage her fans to join the conversation and share what makes them strong using the hashtag.
In a separate post, Upton shared a video of her playing with her daughter Genevieve, citing the eight-month-old as her main motivation in life.
“I’m strong for my daughter, I want her to feel comfortable to radiate strength, power and confidence,” Upton captioned the post.
“I realise that starts with me. Now I encourage you to join the conversation and share why you’re strong. #ShareStrong.”
Within a matter of hours of launching the campaign, the hashtag went viral with hundreds of people posting their own #ShareStrong stories on social media.

“Here’s to the sleepless nights, bleeding nipples, crying, laughing, the highest of highs and lowest of lows and everything in between,” Prinsloo wrote in the caption.
“I won’t change a single thing, being mum to Dusty and Gio keeps me strong, motivated and empowered. This is my #sharestrong thanks @kateuptonfor starting this.”
