Jordyn Woods has spoken about the pitfalls of social media, describing it as "cancerous" and comparing it to a "tumour".

Speaking to Cosmopolitan, the model explained that she received a torrent of abuse online following her alleged affair with NBA basketball player Tristan Thompson, then-boyfriend of Khloe Kardashian.

“The internet feels so entitled to have opinions about everything, but a lot of it is bulls***,” Woods continued.

“These are real people, with real lives. People are so detached that they don’t feel empathy, they don’t feel bad, they don’t realise that the one message that you sent laughing at someone could be the message that pushes that person off the ledge.”

Woods, whose close friendship with Kylie Jenner, Kardashian's half sister, has dissolved as a result of her alleged affair, added that it became "addictive" to look at the cruel comments she received online.

"When I would look at my name and see all of the things that people were saying, it became like a tumour. It became cancerous to me,” she said.

Woods told the publication that she “didn’t know how to feel” after her kiss with Thompson.

“I went through a phase of thinking, ‘I’m going to isolate myself, because I don’t know how I feel. I don’t know what the right thing to do is’,” she recalled.

Woods went on to explain that she “never” would’ve wished for the situation to happen with Thompson, “but s*** happens”.

The former reality star added: “And in the end, I never want to see anyone hurt; I would hate to be the reason for anyone’s pain. We all have to go to sleep with ourselves at night.”

As for her friendship with Jenner, who recently unfollowed her on social media, Woods explained she hope she can rebuild her relationship with the mother-of-one, explaining that she loves her and calling her “my homie”.
