Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez announced their engagement on Instagram over the weekend, with matching posts showing off the pop star’s engagement ring.
The singer and the baseball star shared the same picture, with ARod captioning his: “She said yes.”
In the photo, the couple of two years hold hands as Lopez shows off a large emerald-cut diamond ring in the Bahamas, where the pair are vacationing.
While the pair received thousands of well wishes since sharing the news, it is the diamond that has captured the most attention.
According to jewellery experts, the ring is estimated to be between 10 and 20 carats and worth millions.
“I would imagine Jennifer Lopez's engagement ring to have a retail value approaching a million dollars,” a diamond expert told E News. “It looks to be an emerald cut around 10 carats, likely an extremely good stone—VS in colour and clarity.”
Another expert estimated the otherwise simple ring is approximately 20 carats - and could be worth closer to $5m (£3.8m).
Apart from the diamond, the ring features a simple design with a platinum band and solitaire setting.
The pair first began dating in 2017, appearing for the first time as a couple at the Met Gala in May of that year.
