The cynics among us may well argue that these gadgets would only be of use around Christmas time, when we are inundated with useless bits of paper that must be displayed so as not to offend. But in fact they fulfil a need that is rarely recognised, because it just isn't a classy enough concept. Art for the masses - it's already here in the form of cards and postcards. These little poles topped with a bulldog clip are the designers' seal of approval. Art-loving students will breathe a sigh of relief to know that Blu-Tack need no longer sully their precious, one- in-an- edition-of-millions Picasso print.
