The English actor, known for his role on The Wire, plans to open The Parrot at the Waldorf Hilton in London – alongside co-founders and brothers Lee and Nicky Caulfield.
The upscale 60-seat cocktail bar and live music venue is expected to open in October and, according to Eater London, will feature a range of high-end amenities from a secret cocktail menu to exclusive unannounced shows – as long as you’re on the guest list.
The venue also has transportation covered – as it will provide “access to the London bar scene’s first chauffeur-driven, branded car”.
However, this isn’t just any car – VIP guests will be transported to and from the bar in an Aston Martin featuring The Parrot logo.
When it comes to the cocktails, inspiration has been taken from the more than 350 types of parrots in the world and transformed into 15 signature cocktails, according to the bar’s Instagram.
As for the food, The Waldorf’s resident executive chef, Karl Richardson will be crafting “vibrant and delicious small plates” that align with the “tropical hideaway” theme of the bar.
To entertain its celebrity guest list, the venue will feature live nightly entertainment from its five-piece in-house band, who will be “performing covers of songs we all know, with talent direct from the West End, bringing a unique energy to the heart of London”.
While the bar isn’t set to open until next month, those eager to mingle with Elba and his actor acquaintances can email to make a reservation through The Parrot’s website.
