From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The CrossFit Games Finals 2010 take place July 16-18 ?at the Home Depot Center (home of the LA Galaxy soccer team) in Carson, California, USA.

This CrossFit Games event is the final competition in a series where the world's fittest, who have triumphed in regionals and sectionals around the world including in Iceland and Australia to make it to the finals, come together to try to win their section (male, female, over 50, teams) and get the $25,000 (€19,755) prize.

The twist is that none of the athletes competing have any clue as to what workouts they will have to endure over the three-day event.

CrossFit is about metabolic conditioning and the workouts combine a series of intense fast workouts without machines for core strengthening and conditioning combining weightlifting, sprinting and gymnastics.

CrossFit training is used by various militaries for training sessions including the US Marines, Royal Danish Life Guards and Canadian Forces.
