However, a key member of the royal family may end up missing the arrival of the royal baby - the child's uncle, the Duke of Cambridge.
On Wednesday, Kensington Palace announced that Prince William will be travelling to New Zealand in late April on behalf of the Queen.
The duke will honour the victims of the Christchurch mosques terrorist attack during his visit, at the request of New Zealand prime minister Jacinda Ardern.
"The duke will meet with those affected by the attack and will pay tribute to the extraordinary compassion and solidarity that the people of New Zealand have displayed in recent weeks," the statement reads.
When the news of Meghan Markle's pregnancy was announced in October 2018, the palace revealed that the duchess was due to give birth in spring 2019.
No further details of Markle's due date were disclosed at the time.
However, in January, the duchess hinted at her due date while speaking with well-wishers during a visit to Birkenhead, Merseyside.
Markle reportedly told a woman that she was six months pregnant at the time, meaning that her due date may be in mid to late April.
If this is true, then there's a strong likelihood Prince William won't be present when he becomes an uncle for the first time.
Following the Christchurch mosques terrorist attack in New Zealand on 15 March, during which 50 people were killed, Kensington Palace released a joint statement from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
"Our hearts go out to the families and friends of the people who lost their lives in the devastating attack in Christchurch," the statement read.
"No person should ever have to fear attending a sacred place of worship."
The Queen also released a statement, in which she said she was "deeply saddened by the appalling events" which occurred.
"I also pay tribute to the emergency services and volunteers who are providing support to those who have been injured," the monarch added.
