Your support makes all the difference.Kelly Rowland has announced she is expecting her second child, explaining that she and her partner had “loosely” discussed having a baby before the coronavirus pandemic.
Rowland made her pregnancy reveal in a cover shoot for Women’s Health magazine, showing off her baby bump while modelling a variety of outfits including a pleated orange dress, an asymmetrical black top and a white two-piece swimsuit.
The singer and her husband, manager, Tim Weatherspoon, are already parents to Titan Jewell Weatherspoon, born in November 2014.
“We had been talking about [having another child] loosely, and then Covid happened, and we were just like, ‘Let’s see what happens’," the 39-year-old told the publication.
Rowland said that she was surprised when she became pregnant straight away, although she felt tentative about sharing her news with the public at first.
“But you still want to remind people that life is important,” she said.
“And being able to have a child…I’m knocking at 40’s door in February. Taking care of myself means a lot to me."
In a video shared on Women’s Health’s Instagram channel, Rowland said that she was “feeling good” five months into her pregnancy.
“The first physical change I felt this pregnancy was how much quicker my body went into pregnancy mode,” the former Destiny’s Child member said.
Numerous people congratulated Rowland and her family on the news of her pregnancy.
“So happy you are announcing today!!! It has been hard keeping this exciting news a secret,” Tina Lawson, mother to Beyoncé and Solange Knowles, commented underneath an Instagram post shared by Rowland.
“Congrats Tim and Titan too. Grandchildren yayyyy!!!!”
