From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

On Sunday 21 June, yogis around the world will unite for the International Day of Yoga, an annual event dedicated to celebrating the ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that originates from India.

While in normal times, people might have marked the day with a visit to their favourite yoga class, this year, they will have to celebrate at home given that much of the world remains in lockdown due to the coronavirus outbreak.

But that is no bad thing, particularly when you consider how many qualified yoga teachers have taken their teaching online during the pandemic.

It’s never been easier to find someone to teach you how to do a downward dog in your bedroom, but with so many yoga teachers now operating in the digital sphere, it can difficult to know which one to choose.

From industry juggernauts like Adrienne Mishler to fledgling newbies like Tim Senesi, here are the best yoga teachers on YouTube to help you make the most of this year’s International Day of Yoga.

The classes are rarely longer than 40 minutes, making them perfect for a lunchtime workout.
