Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

The best-selling book and film Eat Pray Love ( EPL) has spawned a series of products ranging from scents to sheets but one product integral to the story is the herbal remedy Jamu that 'heals' the author Elizabeth Gilbert during the ‘love' portion of her journey in Bali, Indonesia. Here are some tips on how to get your cup of Jamu.

Jamu is a ‘herbal medicinal concoction' that can be made with different herbs, spices, roots and fruits packed with vitamins and minerals like calcium, magnesium, iron and B6, depending on the ailment it will be used to heal. One new ‘old' product, Sajen Jamu, bottles "a 5000-year old wellness recipe" made with tumeric, other root spices, leaves, barks, fruit, and sweetened with agave. The "Earth drink" boasts a "high level of anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory benefits" and a special EPL Bali trial pack (two Jamu flavors Tumeric and Ginger-Tumeric plus a bottle of Beets Q Tisane) sells for $12/€9.30. http://sajenjamu.com/seethi.aspx

The blog Herbalismedic posted a collection of "century-old" Jamu recipes from 20 Indonesian provinces that can be used as an aphrodisiac plus a cure for premature ejaculation, arthritis and kidney problems, Yellow Fever, sinusitis and much more. If you would like to whip a batch of your own Jamu, visit: http://herbalismedic.blogspot.com/

The California-based product Jamu for Life's site notes that Jamu "heals quickly, rejuvenates, and strengthens [the] immune system. One needs to drink it once a day and very soon you will feel and appreciate it." The site also lists that there are over "300 different blends of Jamu," that include a variety of common ingredients such as cinnamon, nutmeg, aniseed, cloves, black pepper, cardamom, cumin, caraway seeds, ginger, turmeric, wild ginger, white turmeric, boesenbergia rotunda, awaupuhi, tamarind, orange, kalamasi, lemon, papaya, banana, starfruits, Palm sap, agave, and honey. http://jamu4life.com/OUR_ARTISAN_JAMU.html

If Jamu isn't your thing, you may want to pick-up a 50-bag tin of Eat, Pray, Love Blood Orange Cinnamon Tea by The Republic of Tea for $11.50/€9 (though currently out of stock) via http://www.republicoftea.com/eat-pray-love-blood-orange-cinnamon-black-tea/p/V02124A/

The EPL film is to be released in 20 countries from Estonia to South Korea between August and November. For more information, go to: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0879870/releaseinfo
