EATING fresh garlic may prevent cancer, but only if thousands of cloves are consumed daily, according to the British Journal of Cancer. Its review of research concludes that some substances in garlic may inhibit the formation of tumours. But a person would have to eat between 25 and 400 garlic cloves per kilogram of body weight every day to realise some of the benefits shown by laboratory and animal experiments.
