EAR-PULLING in a child is unlikely to be a sign of ear infection unless other symptoms are present, according to the US journal Pediatrics. A study of 100 young children brought by their parents to a paediatric clinic found that there were no cases of infection among 20 youngsters where ear-pulling was the only complaint. Those with infections all had additional symptoms.
