RULES on epilepsy and driving are being relaxed, allowing several thousand sufferers to reapply for a licence. The period for which someone is barred after an attack while awake has been reduced from two years to one. The change follows research which shows the accident rate among drivers who had suffered recent seizures was no greater than among the general population.
