RHEUMATOID arthritis in older women may be helped by hormone replacement therapy, according to research reported in Pulse. In a trial involving 200 women with the disease, doctors at St Bartholomew's Hospital, London, found that in those treated with HRT, symptoms such as early morning stiffness and pain improved more than among those on a placebo.
