FDA reaches out directly to consumers with co-branded site
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is now reaching out directly to consumers through a co-branded website aimed at providing the latest news and information on a range of health topics as well as on food, medical products, prescription drugs and advice on disease and illness prevention.
In partnership with the health web site EverydayHealth.com, which already has an audience of some 30 million consumers a month, the new site (www.EverydayHealth.com/FDA) will contain material provided directly by the FDA. The information will include updates on such timely topics as fraudulent H1N1- related products, information on seasonal vaccines or on dangerous body-building products as well as breaking news in the health sector.
The site will also feature FDA alerts as they happen, and offer an FDA EverydayHealth.com weekly e-newsletter for subscribers, with the latest FDA consumer health information, including continuously updated information on drug and food safety, cosmetics, skincare products and children's health products.
