Halsey has confirmed her engagement to Avan Jogia, after she walked the black carpet at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).

The 29-year-old singer took to X (formerly on Twitter) to address her relationship status. Halsey responded to a post from Pop Base about her appearance at the VMAs, where she gushed about their relationship with the actor.

While the gossip account wrote that Halsey was talking about marrying her “boyfriend Avan Jogia,” during an interview with E! News at the awards show, the “Without Me” singer made a correction, confirming her engagement.

Halsey simply wrote: “***fiancé Avan Jogia.”

In July, Halsey and Jogia first sparked rumors that they were engaged. At the time, according to the celebrity gossip Instagram account Deux Moi, the singer and Victorious actor were seen having a picnic together in New York City, as Halsey appeared to have a ring on her finger. The ring featured a gold band and green-colored stone surrounded by smaller diamonds.

Although she wasn’t accompanied by their fiancé, Halsey stunned at the VMAs last night in a red hot cheetah print gown plucked from the 1996 Versace archives. Tiny beads also sparkled throughout the glamorous number, which was originally made for Elizabeth Hurley. Halsey also performed her hit song, “Ego,” during the awards show.

During an interview with E! News while on the black carpet last night, the “Bad at Love” singer expressed her gratitude for Jogia, calling him “the best.”

“He’s one of the greatest things that ever happened to me,” she said. “And every single day that I get to spend with him is one where I just feel like I’m with my best friend.”

When asked if she was going to marry Jogia, she cheekily responded: “I hope so.” She then shared that her three-year-old son, Ender – who she shares with ex-Alev Aydin – would want to be a part of her wedding. “They’re best friends too. They’re inseparable,” she said about her son and her fiancé.

In September 2023, Jogia and Halsey first confirmed they were together, making the romance public while on a night date in Los Angeles. During the outing, Jogia was spotted with his arm wrapped around his partner, as they watched a live performance at the Cara Hotel in the city’s Los Feliz neighborhood.

Last month, Halsey recalled meeting her now-fiancé and the challenges she had faced when entering the relationship, as she was diagnosed with lupus SLE in 2022, and then a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder. However, she said that she ultimately came to learn that she and Jogia were the “right fit” for each other.

“When I met my partner, I was a single mom and I thought I was on my deathbed, basically,” she said, during an episode of the SHE MD Podcast, which aired in August. “He has the ability to really show up in a way that has given me so much healing, and has made me be able to accept myself, and allow me to say when I don’t feel well, or when I don’t want to do something.”
