Halloween costumes for men and women are very different - even pirates, zombies and skeletons are 'sexy' for the latter

It’s sad to think about the naïve Cady Heron in Mean Girls, getting really excited about her ex-wife (not a zombie bride) costume ahead of a disastrous Halloween party at Aaron Samuels house.
Obviously women should be able to wear whatever they want, but there is still a theme when you try and shop for costumes online that sees a huge disparity in the designs for men and women: basically there’s just less material for the latter.
Here are 7 of the most traditional, with the most obvious differences.
Skeleton
It’s unlikely that you could tell the different between a male and female skeleton after a few glasses of Halloween punch anyway, but it’s bizarre to see companies try and ‘sex up’ the women’s version.
And even ignoring the fact that the costume for the woman sees her pelvis at stomach level to make way for the tiny skirt, the fact that a ‘skeleton’ costume would feature any bare flesh seems ridiculous.
Nerd
Yeah, because all the "nerds" at school dressed like this. If you’re going for the stereotype then stick to it: shirt tucked in, skirt/trousers according to school rules, and those awful clumpy black shoes your mum made you wear.
Finding Nemo
Get away.
Avatar
There were no high heels on Pandora and that is a fact. It should also be noted that even though Jake Scully only wore a loin-cloth type thing in the film, he is STILL GIVEN CLOTHES by costume manufacturers.
Pirate
Neither are particularly accurate, but this is the UK in late October, not the Caribbean, so…
Zombie
The women’s version of this seems to take three costumes and throw them all together: zombie, nurse, axe murderer. Maybe some find people in uniform attractive, but there is nothing sexy about an undead creature whose only wish is to eat your brains.
Cop
No.
