Hailey Bieber has candidly shut down pregnancy rumours once more.

The 26-year-old model – who’s been married to Justin Bieber since 2018 – addressed the ongoing speculation about whether she’s pregnant during an interview with GQ Hype, published on 24 October. Her comment came after she denied similar claims on multiple occasions, including in November 2022, when she even got ahead of them before they even started. At the time, she shared a picture of her stomach and specified that she had a cyst on her ovary that “was the size of [an] apple,” and “not a baby”.

Speaking to GQ Hype, she shared her candid thoughts about fans assuming that she’s pregnant just because of her physical appearance.

“Recently, everybody was like: ‘Oh, my God, she’s pregnant,’ and that’s happened to me multiple times before,’” she said. “There is something that’s disheartening about, Damn, I can’t be bloated one time and not be pregnant? It would be a lie if I was like: ‘Oh, yeah, I don’t give a s***.’”

She added that “when there comes a day” that she is pregnant, “you, you, as in the internet, will be the last to know”.

Bieber also recalled that, in previous interviews, she discussed raising her children outside of the public eye, like her parents – Stephen Baldwin and Kennya Baldwin – did. However, she acknowledged that the initial plan may not be possible now, since being in the spotlight is “probably totally unavoidable”.

“That was before I was married,” she said. “Didn’t know who I was going to be married to at the time, I’m sure. Maybe I liked the idea at 18 of not raising kids around certain things, but my life is so different now than it was when I was 18.”

The Rhode Beauty founder added that as she and her husband haven’t even started a family yet, she’s still learning what it means to be a parent.

“It’s so hard to say what I’m going to do or not do when there isn’t even a child here yet,” she explained. “I don’t even know what it feels like to be a parent other than a dog parent yet. And that’s not the same thing, by any means.”

However, according to Bieber, motherhood is something that she still looks “forward to”.

“It’s also such a private, intimate thing. It’s something that’s going to come when it comes,” she said. She also went on to send a message to online critics, encouraging them to stop making comments about her and other people’s bodies.

“And it’s just, honestly, at the end of the day, so hilarious how much people f***ing care,” she continued. “Let me do what I want to do with my body and you guys can do what you want to do with your body — and let’s just let it be that.”

Over the years, Bieber has continued to hit back at pregnancy rumours. In November 2020, she called out US Weekly for reportedly planning to run a story about her expecting a baby. “So please stop writing false stories from your ‘sources’ and focus on what’s important aka the election,” she wrote on her Instagram Story at the time.

In April 2022, Radar Online reported on Instagram that Bieber’s “flowing gown” at the Grammys that year had fans “convinced” she was expecting a child. In the comments, she shut the claim down, writing: “I’m not pregnant leave me alone”.

The model has also opened up about how the speculation has ultimately affected her mindset when starting a family with the “STAY” singer. During an interview with The Sunday Times in May of this year, she confessed that she “cries all the time” about the idea of bringing children into her life because she is always in the public eye.

“I want kids so bad but I get scared. It’s enough that people say things about my husband or my friends,” she said. “I can’t imagine having to confront people saying things about a child.”

She added: “We can only do the best we can to raise them. As long as they feel loved and safe.”

However, Bieber has also acknowledged that she tries not to let the constant attention surrounding her life get to her. Elsewhere in her conversation with GQ Hype, she acknowledged that she’s in a good place and is “very happy”.

“I very much feel like this is where I’m meant to be,” she said. I’ve had times where I didn’t feel so connected to myself or my body for different reasons. Right now in my life, I feel very clear, very solid, very happy. I’m just focused on what’s in front of me.”
