More than a hundred GoT fans have taken things one step further by paying tribute to the fantasy programme’s final season by getting permanent tattoos.
Earlier this week, fans of the HBO show – which aired its final season on Sunday in the US – queued for hours outside Soho-based tattoo parlour The Circle in London.
During a two-day pop-up event at the tattoo studio, GoT devotees received a range of inkings, drawing on inspiration from the programme’s themes, quotes, and symbols.
One particularly popular tattoo was a sword with the phrase “not today”, referencing master sword-fighter Syrio Forel’s quote from season one. Meanwhile, others opted for the lion sigil of the House Lannister.
Several fans shared photos of their tattoos on Twitter, with some revealing they'd waited up to five hours to get an inking.
"Got my #GOTink thanks #NowTV and everyone else involved! Long, but great day! #GameofThrones," wrote one fan.
"After waiting in for about 5 hours finally got my tattoo," added another.
Celebrities including former Love Island contestant Marcel Somerville and reality star Sam Thompson also braved the tattoo chair.
The tattoos, offered in association with streaming service NOW TV, were designed by celebrity tattoo artist, Lauren Winzer, who has inked musicians including Miley Cyrus and Post Malone.
Last year, Winzer tattooed actor Sophie Turner (who plays Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones) with the quote “The Pack Survives”, inspired by the show.
