From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

It seems that both the Xbox One and PS4 will be released in the UK in time for Christmas, if release-dates leaked by retailer Toys’R’Us are to be believed.

The release date for Microsoft’s latest console was listed as November 29th with Sony’s offering arriving just after on December 13th.

A spokesperson from the toy chain spoke to BT and confirmed the dates, saying “I can confirm this information has been given direct from our suppliers and is accurate.”

However, neither Microsoft nor Sony has confirmed these dates. Microsoft have responded only to say that they are definitely launching in November, and Sony have only confirmed that the PS4 will be arriving “this holiday season”.

In terms of pre-orders the PS4 seems to be leading the way, though Microsoft have reported selling out at retailers including Amazon and Gamestop.

Toys’R’Us are listing the price for the Xbox One as £419.99 and the PS4 as £339.99.
