Is Virgin Mobile down, when will it come back and can I make calls yet?
'We’re working quickly to resolve an issue that’s affecting some of our customers making calls, sending text messages and using mobile data,' Virgin Media says
Virgin Media has apologised to customers after a major outage prevented Virgin Mobile users to make calls, send text messages and use mobile data.
It is unclear what caused the network to go down but it marks the latest in a sting of incidents for the UK operator, which was recently voted the worst internet provider for outages.
"We're working quickly to resolve an issue that's affecting some of our customers making calls, sending text messages and using mobile data," Virgin Media told customers through its official Twitter account.
"We apologise to our customers for the inconvenience caused."
Another post stated: "Rest assured that we're doing all we can to fix this. We hope to have it back up and running soon."
Customers called for the network to reimburse them for the issues caused but Virgin is yet to respond to these requests.
"Are we going to get any reimbursement for this?" asked one user on Twitter. "It's been a complete hassle today!!! I thought it was my phone playing up, because I can receive calls but can't make them."
Virgin Media did not immediately respond to a request for comment and it is unclear how long the issues will persist.
