Vibease: 'World’s first wearable smart vibrator' syncs with your iPhone
The Vibease can be controlled remotely from a smartphone or sync with an audio 'fantasy'
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.A crowd-funding campaign has been launched for the "world’s first wearable smart vibrator"; a Bluetooth-enabled device that can sync its movements with audiobooks like Fifty Shades of Grey or be controlled remotely by a smartphone.
“Whilst most personal massages focus on strength they overlook the other senses that play an important role in the pleasure experience,” says journalist Hermione Way, spokesperson for the Vibease. “We understand that physical stimulation alone is not enough.”
“Research shows hearing, mood, emotion and fantasies play a big part in a woman's sexual pleasure and satisfaction. We've created a product using revolutionary technology to tap into how women are designed to best experience pleasure.”
The Vibease comes with a paired ‘Fantasy App’ from which user can select an audio fantasy to create “an immersive sensual experience”:
“As the audio fantasy sets the mood your vibrator will begin changing intensity and rhythm based on the content of the story.”
Users can also ‘score’ their own fantasies, pairing a sequence of vibrations with anything from a favourite song to an audio-recording of their partner’s voice. These can then be uploaded to the app’s marketplace to be downloaded by others.
The app also offers remote control via a second smartphone connected over the internet as well as an inbuilt private message system, both allowing “your partner to control the vibrations from anywhere in the world”.
The Vibease is 3.1-inches in length making it “small, discreet and wearable”. Made from ‘body-safe’ silicone the device pairs with Android and iOS devices and is both waterproof and rechargeable.
The campaign has currently raised just under $13,000 of its $15,000 goal on Indiegogo and offers a top founder reward of $5,990 for one hundred vibrators. See below for the full pitch from the company, though you might want to skip to a minute in to avoid the informercial style 'demonstration'.
