The leak also gives new information on an Apple TV that could be launched at the same time, during its “Hi, Speed” event.
The company has uploaded new, smaller icons designed to illustrate the various iPhone 12 devices to the site.
The icons support already strong rumours that Apple is planning four phones, in three different sizes. They also give some detail on the changes that could arrive during the launch event.
While the differences are small, there is a noticeably smaller notch on the new iPhone 12 compared to the iPhone 11.
The edges of the phone also look darker, rather than the reflective surfaces on the current icons.
Finally, as spotted by the Twitter account “Apple Software Updates", the icons are named “iPhone13,1”, “iPhone 13,2”, “iPhone 13,3” and “iPhone 13,4”.
In internal Apple documents, the iPhone 11 is referred to as the iPhone 12,x”, according to 9to5Mac, which is why the icons are named seemingly after the iPhone 13.
Apple also uploaded a new asset for the Apple TV, called “AppleTV6,1”, which suggests the company is launching a new streaming box – albeit one that will look the same as the Apple TV 4K.
The new iPhone, which is being announced today, is expected to come with a more rectangular body similar to the iPad Pro and Air, as well as a new A14 Bionic chip, a LiDAR sensor so that it can more accurately estimate depth, and 5G connectivity.
One particular version of the iPhone 12 is likely to be far more popular than the others, according to an Apple analyst.
The company is apparently making twice as many of the standard version of the iPhone 12, says reliable leaker Ming-chi Kuo.
Some 40 per cent of Apple's production is focused on that model. The remaining models will be given 20 per cent each, the report claimed.
The company is also expected to launch new headphones, and possibly a smaller version of its HomePod smart speaker.
