From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Konami has finally confirmed a release date for the PS Vita’s own version of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection with the title slated for a late June release.

The collection, already available on PS3 and Xbox 360, updates two of Hideo Kojima’s legendary sneak-em-ups in the shape of MGS2: Sons of Liberty and MGS3: Snake Eater, though disappointingly Vita users won’t get the additional MGS: Peace Walker as part of the bundle – most likely because it’s already available via PSN and Konami wouldn’t want to be gifting away additional sales now would they?

As with previous iterations the games feature all-new graphical make-overs, trophies and bespoke controls systems designed to make the most of the PS Vita’s touch-screen capabilities.

The Vita version will also introduce a rebalanced user interface and Kojima Productions’ unique “Transfarring” system for data sharing with PS3 units.
