From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

A Dublin city centre restaurant has added a Nutella burger to its brunch menu.

The indulgent dish is available at Ruby's Pizza and Grill Point Square and is made by deep frying a dollop of Nutella in a rich batter, according to 98FM.

The fried chocolate "patty" is then served in between a jam doughnut, giving it a burger-like structure, and is topped with vanilla ice cream, strawberries and a sprinkling of icing sugar.

The popular restaurant officially opened for business last month and is the second branch from the Ruby's Pizza & Grill chain.

At €8.95 (£7.99), the Nutella burger marks the launch of the restaurant's new brunch menu, which is available from this Sunday at 10:30am and is served until 2:30pm.

A video of the sweet dish being constructed has been watched more than 2,400 times after it was posted on the restaurant’s Facebook page.

But the new "burger" isn’t the only option on the menu for Nutella fans.

A sweet crust Nutella pizza also features on the restaurant’s dessert menu and is served alongside fresh fruit, vanilla ice cream and topped with grated hazelnuts.

The release of the Nutella burger comes just one year after McDonald’s announced they were launching a similar dish in Italian outposts of the fast-food chain.

The "Sweety con Nutella" burger consists of a thick dollop of the popular hazelnut spread sandwiched between two of the fast-food giants’ trademark buns.

Let’s hope it’s not too long until the Nutella burger trend makes its way over to the UK.
