Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Nando’s has announced that it is reopening more restaurants for delivery and collection across the UK and Ireland, bringing its total up to 216.
On Monday 8 June, the chain declared that 61 additional restaurant were being reopened for delivery and click and collect.
Furthermore, customers are being offered free delivery for two weeks when they order from the Nando’s website.
The reopening of restaurants follows a successful trial at four restaurants in London and two in Manchester for deliveries and will see outlets operate “behind closed doors” as they continue to not offer a dine-in service in line with current government regulations.
The chain added that it will be operating from a “reduced” menu to support staff, but will continue to serve popular items such as peri-peri chicken wings, butterfly chicken, halloumi sticks and peri chips.
The company said that all click and collect orders must be placed online via its website Nandos.co.uk to avoid queues and keep customers and staff safe.
Each Nando’s restaurant is still working under strict government guidelines on top of their existing health and safety procedures.
Designated waiting areas have been set up for drivers and collect customers and order volumes will be monitored to avoid queues.
Similarly, customers are being encouraged not to travel to the restaurant unless they are picking up a collect order at their allotted time.
Staff are also being supplied with PPE to wear and have been encouraged to wash their hands more regularly while maintaining social distancing during shifts.
Here is a list of all the Nando’s restaurants that have reopened.

Nando’s is the latest in a long line of other restaurant chains, including Wagamama and KFC, which have recently returned to serving customers.
In March, the government told restaurants to shut their doors as part of the lockdown but have continued to allow restaurants to serve takeaway and collection services, in line with health and safety guidelines.
