From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.McDonald’s fans, rejoice, as a newfound hack means that customers can now order extra toppings on their McFlurry for as little as 20p.
Who knew?
Understandably, Mcflurry lovers were pretty excited to discover that they could now open up the floodgates of toppings, in what might just be the best bargain of the year.
“Please tell me I wasn’t the only person to know you could get more than one topping on a Mcflurry for 20p?” tweeted one customer.
“So you can add extra toppings to ya Mcflurry for 20p. Bargain,” added another.
It seems that the secret deal might have previously been shared on a need-to-know basis only, as one Twitter user explained that she only found out about it because her boyfriend used to be a manager at McDonald’s.
Now that the glorious news has broken, it’s only a matter of time until Mcflurry fans everywhere flock to their closest golden arches to get their hands on the ice cream and saucy goodness that make up one of the UK’s most indulgent treats.
Unfortunately, the additional 20p toppings aren’t something officially available on McDonald’s menus and can only be sourced in select branches, as a McDonald’s spokesperson explained to The Independent:
“We offer guidance around pricing, but ultimately our franchises decide on those which are set based on a number of factors.”
It seems that a bit of detective work will be required to unearth the delightful dealings of extra toppings.
McFlurry fans everywhere: disperse and conquer.
