McDonald’s announces new BTS meal

The meal will be available in nearly 50 countries, including South Korea, the US, Australia, Brazil, and India

South Korean boy band BTS is joining forces with McDonald's for a special “BTS Meal” which is scheduled to launch on 26 May.

The meal will be available in nearly 50 countries, including South Korea, the US, Australia, Brazil, and India.

The tour will officially kick off in the US where the band’s signature order will include a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, medium fries, medium coke, and sweet chili, and cajun dipping sauces inspired by popular recipes from McDonald’s South Korea.

BigHit Entertainment, the label of BTS said: “The band has great memories with McDonald’s. We’re excited about this collaboration and can’t wait to share the BTS Meal with the world,”

McDonald’s officially announced the collaboration on Twitter. They wrote: “Coming this May: The BTS Meal”

American professional wrestler John Cena additionally took to Instagram and shared an image of a french fries arrangement representing the BTS logo as a silent shout-out to the Grammy Award-winning group.

Following the news, several BTS fans, otherwise called the Army, took to social media to express their eagerness.

One fan wrote: “Me at McDonald’s store until I don’t get BTS photocards.”

People Magazine’s Jodi Guglielmi wrote: “This is what we need, this is what we deserve. we have no choice but to stan.”

“And just like that McDonald's takes the number one spot as the superior fast food” wrote another fan about the collaboration.

Morgan Flatley, Chief Marketing Officer, McDonald’s USA said: “BTS truly lights up the world stage, uniting people across the globe through their music.

“We’re excited to bring customers even closer to their beloved band in a way only McDonald’s can – through our delicious food – when we introduce the BTS signature order on our menu next month.” he said.

McDonald’s has previously released celebrity meals in collaboration with rapper Travis Scott and Colombian singer J. Balvin.
